12/14/2019 — Nancy Daye Remembrance Dance
Many of you have asked me what we can do for Bob to honor Nancy. We all know Nancy didn’t want fussed over so she chose not to have a service or memorial. However, we as Bob and Nancy’s square dance family, wanted to do something to support Bob and honor Nancy but what?
Jason and Kathleen have been long time friends with Bob (since Katie was a little girl) and they made the suggestion that we have a benefit dance to honor Nancy with proceeds going to a charity that was near and dear to Nancy. So I spoke with Bob on Monday and explained we loved them both and though we wanted to respect Nancy’s wishes we thought a benefit dance would be something she would be happy with. Bob said she was very involved with Hospice and the Kobacker House and thought that would be a good charity to donate to. He wanted to think about it for a couple of days and today he called and gave the go ahead and thought it was a good idea.
Since Grove City Western Squares has Bob and Jason calling for our Christmas dance on Saturday, December 14th, we thought this was a perfect opportunity and time of year to have the benefit dance. It is a high-lo dance so we would love to have everyone come and honor Nancy and greet Bob with lots of yellow rocks and love.
All proceeds from the gate price or donation will go to the local Kobacker House. We ask that if you can to bring a light snack to help with what we hope will be a wonderful crowd.
Thank you for your concerns and support in showing Bob how much we all care.
